The blade itself looks very nice and the shading is great, but this "blazing" effect of yours is kinda blending.. you might want to add more color and a glow over it.
Also this red line that goes thru the center of the sword should be less noticeable, it kinda ruins the whole "blade" thing.

...I don't know. It doesn't look that blazing to me. It's too simple (IMO) to be approved (but could be approved). maybe show a little of the handle, background a little more "blazing"... But i now notice it was for a tutorial, so we could look over all those facts. It's nice. The red thing that goes through the sword is... Meh.
I give it a 4/5. Maybe you could make it more blazing by adding more details, glows and well, maybe redo the shape somehow.

You should try to make the sword cover more of the image, make the blade broader and increase the blazing effect. I think it'd make it look significantly better.
