Bladestorm

Ok, I wanted to use a different bladestorm animation for my map since there are so many of them made in the models section...

I decided upon this one

BladeStorm - The Hive Workshop - A Warcraft III Modding Site

and I got it to load and everything... But I cant get it to stay when the skill is being used... It shows up for only about 1 second, long enough for it to go through its birth and death animations... and I can't figure out how to get it to stay for the duration of the spell...

HELP!

The spell may not work right OR it could be that the effect when made was not MADE to go for a certain amount of time but you could possibly take the effect use something that can re-edit it (JASS may work) and make it so the duration LASTS longer... Anyway i wish you the upmost amount of luck!

Seriously Absense, your not making any sence. First off, you need a custom model, that is the blademaster expept without the geoset that holds the spinny effect thingy. I'm sure somebody would be more than happy to do that in the weaponless models thread in the requests section, it's basicly the same thing exept easier. Next you need to make a dummy unit that's model is the model of the new effect. Finally you need 3 triggers (one with Jass), one that creates the dummy unit when the blademaster starts casting the spell, one that moves the dummy unit while the blademaster is spinning, and one that removes the dummy unit when the caster stopps. I'll post the triggers later when I feel like it.

Well, when you make a spell, you can edit or create the duration you want it to be, i have done it before with a spell where it launches infernals and then it rains the starfall inferno and rain of fire balls, and when i did it with jass i has a choice of how long could it be,and its a spell not a model?

THANKYOU! See that makes more sense... Ok, but you said one of the triggers is JASS, do i need anything special to use it?

No, I said that that it could be done with one trigger in jass, or 3 in GUI. I guess I might be able to write it in jass, but it would take longer and be harder.

I thought you meant that there were 3 triggers and one had to be in JASS... GUI is fine and prefered...

But you don't have to write these, but I would be more than grateful if you did...

EDIT:
It shouldn't be needed to use triggers to attach that model to bladestorm...
In which field did you put the effect?

I tried everything I possibly could... It is probably beacuse the new baldestorm is a model and not a spell... So getting the model to stay is more difficult... But who knows
