1st of all describe what you want in a better description on like what you would like to improve on. 2nd this is not always a rule you must follow but its best before requesting get to know people it makes your chances of getting this request done much higher. but that's all from me.

Okidoki, I'm the expert at making attachments :p
You should get the Milkshape 3D 30 days trial.
http://www.chumba.ch/chumbalum-soft/files/ms3d184.zip

Milkshape is the perfect tool for making attachments.
Then you should check this tutorial and just make the same to learn the basics (placing of Vertices, creating Faces, Regrouping, Wrapping)
http://www.iinit.com/tutorial.cfm?category=2&source=2&tutorial=5

Then you should check this tutorial, which shows how to make attachments for WC3 including exporting:
http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/3d-modeling-tutorials-282/milkshape-attachment-modeling-53734/

One more good theoretical tutorial is this one:
http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/3d-modeling-tutorials-282/modeling-animation-101-a-41840/
Then you can search the Internet for pictures of swords etc and take it as background image and then place the Vertices on the pictures (like shown in the Tutorials)
If you have anymore questions, PM me.
