"You need no triggers with the alternate method, if you import a vertical gate model (15 kb or so, pretty much just rotated on the axis), and it at least saves the triggers for horizontal gates even if you don't (Needs no triggers). You can just add an Animation Tag to the open gate so that you don't need to play the animation via triggers."

1) How do I do that?
2) Anyone sitting on a rotated gate model? :p

I've got a rotated gate in my TD.

Not sure exactly what you want to do, but if you want a permanently open/closed gate you can do this very easily: open the model (.mdl format, convert it if its .mdx) in a text editor (like notepad) and just replace the animation names. This is near the top of the model text, just replace "stand" with "death alternate" and vice versa.

Thats great, both your map and the models were exactly what I needed, still lacking a closed 90 degree model though. Never actually sat down and tried to figure out model editing, don't think I'll do it anytime soon either. We'll see.

I don't think you need two models for opened gates though, since they can be units without ground-pathing and thus rotatable.

This castle looks like it was designed by a 5 year old. ;D Don't know if build-able walls are salvageable...
