so i was thinking of doing a map mostly with triggers...
and i was trying to figure out how to do attacking manually
i figured out how to play the unit animation for attack, but how do you do the projectile?
so what i'm doing is making the wc3 attacks enabled for the units none. but then i give the unit an ability called attack. not sure what ability to use but i figure channel would work. anyway i can't figure out how to edit in the data for channel a projectile art and i don't know how to do it in triggers.
so anyway plan is to make the attack do dmg to a unit exactly according to the triggers and it doesn't care about war3 attacking. problem is i want to make it look like a ranged unit is attacking.
another thing you might be able to help with is how do you get rid of stop and hold position ability buttons? i want move and patrol to stay. i was thinking i might have to make my own move and patrol buttons and trigger those in so that i can make the units lose their stop and hold position buttons and i'll have to make new move and patrol buttons like i made new attack button.
if you're looking over this maybe you can recommend an alternate spell to edit for attack that would work better/best. also perhaps you can help with some other abilities i'm going to be adding...basically just think general rpg type abilities, haha. because that's the kind of map i'm making. i kinda have been inspired to make a warcraft styled final fantasy inspired rpg from helping out Avator with his ffix project. so far i know i want the blue mage to be the shadow hunter. also thinking that the bloodelf lieutenant will make a fine dark knight. anyway in my map either all units will have team color neutral (team color black) or all players will be colored black (neutral) i think the warcraft colors sortof ruin the rpg feel you know? cuz this game will have only a few units on the screen at any time i think so color differentiation is not important. after all it's not a strategy game, it's a role playing game....... but now i'm starting to talk like i'm in map development forum...
