Am I the only one who thinks that this Kingdom needs more love? If it could still stand on its own, it would be still part of the Horde. Just imagine if the Syndicate re-allied to the Horde, they would have human allies (After Blood Elves and Forsaken)

Of all the Human Nation Princes, Aliden had the worst story, his past had him the potential to rise up and get stronger for him and the Syndicate but no, he was turned into a little boss whose "Guards are actually stronger than him".

Up to this day, we don't know what happened to Isiden. Maybe he turned into a Death Knight (Baron Perenolde is a random WC3 Death Knight name) or more interestingly, he could side to the Horde as Forsaken or rejoin the Alliance like Thassarian. Or maybe he's still chickening in Gilneas.

I honestly doubt that Blizz would do something to spice up their story. But who knows

Ive never really understood one thing. How did the Kingdom of Alterac got destroyed anyway? Did the Alliance destroyed it or something?

However, the start of the Second War favored the orcs, and the future looked grim for the Alliance. Fearing for his kingdom should the Alliance fail, Lord Perenolde collaborated with the Orcish Horde, supplying them with information in exchange for the survival of the kingdom. Perenolde arranged for a convoy of high elves passing through Tarren Mill to be ambushed by trolls, organized a peasant revolt in Tyr's Hand to cover mining operations there, and attempted to assassinate Sir Uther Lightbringer by employing pirates to tamper with the Order of the Silver Hand.[1] Perenolde also allowed the Horde to pass unimpeded by mountain passes in Alterac towards Lordaeron.[2]

After Perenolde's treachery was uncovered, the army of Stromgarde, led by Thoras Trollbane, travelled to the small kingdom, quickly imposing martial law. General Hath of Alterac had remained loyal to the Alliance and allowed Thoras and his forces to pass unharmed, ambushing orcs in the process.[3]

A previous account given in Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness, indicates that Alterac was completely destroyed by the Alliance forces after its treason.[4] However, this contradicts the information later given in the Warcraft novels.

Human kingdoms are ignored these days aren't they, just the annoying lion stands.

But anyway that connection to legion sounds more like some forgotten thread Blizzard was making years ago. Doesn't really make sense to me anyway as Alterac allied itself with second war horde when they removed the Shadow Council influence and alliance was only because at the moment orcs were on the wining side. For some reason when WoW was young burning legion/shadow council had same habit like old gods today being behind everything for no reason.

Why would modern remnants of Alterac join Horde anyway seeing how forsaken are killing anything alive north of Khaz Modan. Syndicate if it had common sense would stop fighting alliance and try to save some humans from north.

Well Lord Aliden Perenolde (that sob traitor) , sold Alterac and the alliance for his skin.
When he learen that the orcish hordes were about to cross his country to reach the Capital city,he formed a pact with the orcs which they won't attack each other so the orcs can cross the mountains.

Thoras Trollbane was the first who learned that and marhced against the alterac "traitors".Turalyon learned about it and went to support him asap.


For all we know from wrc lore that was an act of treason because Perenolde was supposed to defend his lands since he was a part of the alliance.His nation was the poorest and smallest of the 7 kingdoms so he kinda had no alternative against the orcish horde alone duh....

It's kinda harsh to call someone a traitor when he follows the logic path but when you are part of a group with a purpose and betray them well you are a f$^$& traitor then.....

For all we know from lore, The Syndicate led by Former Alterac Generals Hath and Falconest is the last piece of the Alterac history.The Syndicate is no liberation army or something.It's like Defias Brotherhood,a sworn brotherhood to take revenge against the alliance who ruined their kingdom.And yes the alliance ruined it when they leared that they stole the Book of Medivh from dalaran.

It is an act of treason, he did betray Alliance of which Alterac was part of. Everyone wants to be on the wining side and Horde was winning at that point. Now if Alterac was neutral from the start and made truce with the Horde without having prior agreement with other Kingdoms then it wouldn't have been a treason.

Besides Alterac wasn't alone it was part of the Alliance and terrain is kinda favorable for defense or would switch to guerrilla warfare like current left over of Alterac is doing. Sure the Horde would probably pass through their lands rampaging but after the war Alterac would have been on the wining side and would recover in time instead of becoming terrorist state. But Alterac gambled on the wrong side.

Also why again did Alterac stole the book after the second war anyway. Shouldn't they try to fix diplomatic relations with other kingdoms instead of giving everyone even more reason not to trust them. Heck Deathwing was probably the best diplomat they had.

Well i really don't remember why they stole it but i'm sure they did cause it's on the novel "Beyond the Dark Portal".All i know is that Lord Preston was the regent lord of Alterac while Perenolde was in exile in his own house guarded by alliance soldiers.Preston=Deathwing for some who don't know the lore well...
