I'm working on a map (maybe a campaign), and would like to give my workers Build Advanced Structure. My goal is a click-able ability that opens a alternate construction menu. I am unaware of how to make this work, your help and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Please help this novice world editor.

AFAIK you'll need to use Spellbook.

Spellbook is an ability that opens up a submenu for more abilities, and then you can use the abilities "Build Ivory Tower" (editted for your buildingers) as the spells in your new spellbook.

The problem with this method is that the buildings in this menu won't show gold/lumber costs.

Another, simpler solution would be to give the builder an ability that transforms him into an advanced builder.

u can just change what the builder can build in the tech-tree on the peon or worker as u would call him. or like rulerofiron99 said just add an ability that would change him to another character with different buildings set to him... you would prolly have to do that thru triggers tho?

The design of buildings today requires a series of complex decisions involving many performance considerations, such as comfort, energy requirements, code compliance, environmental impact, aesthetic appeal, etc.
There are a number of software simulation tools to help estimate the performance of proposed buildings with respect to various performance aspects, such as energy and environmental impact

Morph would do... the first unit has normal buildings and the second advanced. No triggering involved.
