Put the braces in a separate geoset in Mdl Vis, then in Magos made a material for it with a layer of teamcolor, under the zombie texture layer with modulate filtering.
It's the easiest way without editing texture alpha channels (which would require importing the new texture with the model), but it can have its issues.
