Nice job man, very nice :D how much did u pay for a mic? i've always wanted a legit recording device other then a standard desktop mic, or the mic in the laptop lol :P

You've got a good voice, I have to admit as much. Your guitar has such a nice ring to it as well, which is basically why I'm a little disappointed with the lack of energy in those small protruding pieces at f.e 0:20.
The song you've chosen should have a natural pouring rhythm accompanied along with it, and any rhythm and pace you had built up previously is instantly lost with those pieces.
The trick is to keep the momentum going.
Your right hand is key to achieve this, try to keep up the pace for the entire song. Don't lose out on your motion, keep that motion going and let that riff ring out.

Regardless, may I ask you about your guitar? I was going to guess Taylor at first, but I am quite hesitant.
Additionally, the material on the body looks quite interesting I must say.

Lastly, thank you for sharing this with us, I for one appreciate this.

Its a Beringer B-1 Condenser Mic :) They're only about £80. It's not the best mic ever, but its not too bad for the money you have to pay :D

Its a Takamine G-Series :D Probably their cheapest electric acoustic I'd imagine :)

And thanks for the feedback! :)

Anyone ever done one of those acoustic covers on youtube? If so, why not share em with us? :)

Heres one of mine :P

You didn't really put your soul into this (or at least not the video), you just made this video to go along with the music, to show what you're worth but it could be way more intense with some montaging and some more expression when you sing. It didn't really move me and that's what I expect to feel when I see a clip. But I guess you didn't really want to make a real piece out of, and just sang it so others could comment on your fine singing voice. It wouldn't have been easy to do so with this kind of theme, anyway so it's not a big deal or anything :D.
You have a very smooth and boyish voice and it works well with the song. It makes more sense than the original (I didn't know it, I just looked it up); when you sing it, it's like "I'm young and he's my role model. I want to achieve something to make him proud/be like him", which is really cool, though the line "he's ordinary" blows that feeling away because young people don't have ordinary people as role model I think. You could come up with another line, easily, I guess, in case you'd want to put this in your repertoire and you'd want to change it.
About that line "He's ordinary", you take this swing there, but it sounds a bit off and I think that's either because you go a bit too loud or it's because of the voice in the backround and I think the latter is more plausible. I also think the voice in the background, in the chorus comes in a bit sudden. It sounds really nice when you sing "watch him as he goes", but it comes in a bit too sudden and it's a bit unexpected. I've been an amateur producer for almost a year now and I didn't learn anything from a book or from lessons, I just listen to stuff (mainly electro, but when I listen to acoustic and classic music, I have to admit that I tend to listen more -as a producer but as a musician too- as it's deeper and sounds really precious and fragile too). I try to find and understand the elements that make the track flow better so I can learn. So I'm not all that experienced, but I'd try to put some effect on the second voice to introduce it before the chorus comes, or maybe sing the whole song in the second voice over again and turn the sound down some more and pan it more to the left the verses and make it louder when you reach the chorus.
Honestly, I'd love to produce this for fun, it has potential and I've never worked with someone else before and I've never produced anything out of the electro scene. Unless you're not really serious about your music and you don't really want to get into it all that much. Ofcourse it's not going to be professional and sound as good as the productions you se on TV, but I'll make it sound better. I'm not offering you fame or something, it could just be a little project for fun without the intention of making money.

I don't mean to force on you, there's no harm done if you say no, if you don't want to rerecord eveything or just don't want to work like that... anything, really. But I'm just saying it would be fun and I'm offering to do it :D

Cheers mate and good job.
