A almost endless ribbon line.

Why?

To track a unit's movement.

Why dont you create some dots after the unit with timed life?

Like,
every 0.25 seconds of game
set temploc = position of YourUnit
create Dot at TempLoc
add 5 seconds timed life to LastCreatedUnit
remove location TempLoc

No. That just makes the game more vulnerable to lag.

Have you ever played Call of Duty WC3, Unreal Tournament WC3, Pudge Wars?

They will delay at times, and were better off having one model rather than a thousand units created in 3 minutes.

Meh, pude wars does not lag, the chain parts are cleaned up fast so almost no lag is detectable

Anyway, having a ribbon line would be

1) easier
2) no triggers
3) cleaner
4) exact (from X, Y to Z)
