(6) 300 - Prepare for Glory 1.38BETA

This is a BETA version. It's early. In future versions there will be more diversity in waves, bosses, diverse spells and more complex items.

Every player starts off with 1 Hero.

Victory: Survive until the "Overwhelmed," timer runs out. The length of this is determined by the host at start. This is to simulate the Spartan's stalling the Persians so the rest of Greece can ready their armies.

Defeat: If your tent is destroyed by the rampaging Persians you lose.
Changes from 1.36 to 1.38:
-Added 10 base damage to Spartans
-Made persians much weaker and more plentiful
-New Minimap
-New Loading Screen
-Added a sword to boss mutant's hand
-Added trees to goat trail near shop

Changes from 1.35 to 1.36:
-Added 8 armor to spartans
-Added 15 Health to spartans
-Lowered pricing on all items
-Made potions have 2 charges
-Made potions drop on death
-lowered revive time from 15 to 8 seconds.

Changes from 1.30 to 1.35:
-Potion cooldown removed
-Sound at Next Wave diversified.
-Immortals weakened
-Spartan Helmet added
-Effects added to swords
-Camera commands added
-Quests updated

[+] - Good use of model and custom spell.
[+] - It exactly follow the theme of 300.
[!] - Give all spartan warrior different ability and make sure all those hotkey working.
[-] - 3 hotkey skill clash with one another.
[-] - Different Spartan warrior, but they all have the same skill.
[-] - Potion replenish interval extremely slow (7-8 minutes).
[-] - Map protected and never mention it.
[-] - Leonidas always repeat the same phrase everytime the new invasion begin. :hohum:

Review : Ok, I would like to said that this map has indeed follow the theme of 300. But, there is several downside of this map such as having the potion replenish interval at 7 minutes. Which is a completely idiot thing to do especially the potion just heal 250 and it is crucial to have healing stuff to aid us in the battlefield.

The terrain look quite decent to me and the game play is quite fun especially when you just started to play. But, it makes you boring if you try to play more than once as each hero have the same skill and their hotkey ain't working quite well cause it clash with one another.

And the repeating sound of Leonidas saying "Spartans, prepare for glory" everytime a new invasion begin is rather annoying, you should add variety of sound for it cause repetition would make a person rather annoy at it.

As for the credit, you do give credit. But, it would be better if you mention the author of the resources such as Spartan icon by Werewulf and you use those imported material quite well as I do not see any problem with it such as green icon (missing icon)

As for the description, you provide a good detail at quest log. But, you did not do so at this hiveworkshop map description/detail/information. This eventually make your map doesn't heed anybody interest at all and you did not state that this map is protected.

Of all this trouble, this map still have long process to goes through before it could be a excellent 300 map.

Wow thnx Septimus :] I needed a tough critique. I'm going to take your suggestions to heart. I'll be updating this by the end of the day.

And I agree this map does have a nice long road ahead of it :D

Well, I give tough critique cause a lot of people complain (Which I rather said whining) about my review style for frequently focusing at bugs/error only.

That is why I give review by using Rui, Satomi, Firelord and Ash style. By doing it this way, they would had no excuse to blame me shall I give the map high rating or low rating.

I guess, it would be a good solution, if all of them would share some essential basic abilities, but each of them has 1 or 2 individual abilitites. I think that would be a good compromise. So it might be ok, if each of them has knockback, but each should have at least one unique abilitiy.

Of course you can give each char 4 unique abilities, but for the start, 1 or 2 may be enough and you can spend more time on them to put them on a high level of quality. Saves work for the next release and makes things less confusing and overhelming for players.

For example, a defensive stance ability would be useful and make sense for all chars.

Edit: I would also like to see some AI. Much people would enjoy playing this on a lan. If you have only 3 human players, it would be a great thing to fill other slots with AI. Otherwise, a dynamic difficulty influenced by the numbers of players would be a great addition. But if you have AI, you could always use the difficulty optimized for the whole roost.

Help please.

I've played a similar version dont know if its the same, but would like to play it again forgot how to download it onto warcraft and how to get to it, ive put this one in scenerios maps but doesnt show, would like some assistance please? Thank you
