Im working on a 40k map. Its gonig to have several modes you can choose, the first one I will do is>
Based on Who is the Alien/Vamp type map
11 Inidividual just happen to be on a SpaceHulk, swarming with tyranids at the same time.
From the Space Marines
- Codicier
- Reclusiarch
- Captain
- Apothecary
- TechMarine
- Champion
- Scout Sergeant
From the Inquisition
Inquisitor - Witch Hunter
Inquisitor - Demon Hunter
Inquisitor - Xeno Hunter
From the Imperial Guard
Commisioner
From the Techo Magi (Will edit when I find correct name)
Tech Priest
They are all trapped on this Space Hulk and must complete a few small objectives to open a door to escape.
However one of them is secretly a Callidus Assassin in disguise (who just happens to be able to morph the armors and such on as well ). He can take the form of the Hero he gets and turn back and forth into the Assassin.
If he makes physical contact with a unit he can take that form as well.
To add to that the 12th player will be a broodlord who will have telepathic command over the tyranids swarming the Space Hulk.
The objectives are for everyone except Broodlord
- To open the door to escape
For the Callidus Assassin
- To kill everyone (not broodlord) AND escape
For Broodlord
- To kill everyone and/or stop them escaping.
There can be modes where you can do both assassin and broodlord in game or toggle one off.
When the game starts you get a random hero from above, with specialist skills, abilities and potential weapons to utilise.
- The tech-marine will be able to find machine/arm extensions for secondary auto attacks like plasma/flamers. Be able to setup defence systems and hack into doors
- The Apothecary will be able to heal remove infections and take blood samples.
- The Scout will have less armor than the other Marines but have a faster walk speed, able to quickly scout the map for additonal weapons and supplies.
- The 3 HQ's will have be able to equip tactical dreadnaught/terminator armor.
etc. etc.
All items will randomly be placed in differnet map locations to be found.
In game everyone will loose there name, so it will be impossible to tell who is who, they will just acquire there in-game character name.
If you die you are Silenced (unable to communicate) and put in obs mode, where you get view of whole map. You can leave or watch and when game ends there will be a restart option.
If the Broodlord kills someone they will become a genestealer joining the tyranid Swarm (still player controlled).
I'm gonig to also have the Archery Tactics/Paintball/Elimination method of firing, where you manually click and a projectile comes out which can be dodged.
I'll also have an ammo system so you need to keep moving about picking up supplies.
At the moment I'm mailing looking for ideas, its not a very complicated map.
Any suggestions on what weapons the characters should have and what abilities would be great as well as other suggestions.
Ofcourse modellers/skinners would be much appreciated, but I probably wont be able to attract any until the maps playable.
