Freehand is using the brush tool. You take a specific color and using the brush tool you apply it to the texture. You use darker and cooler colors for the shadows and lighter and warmer colors for the highlights. It is just like using nondigital art mediums. You can change the opacity, blend, jitter, and other settings to change the effect of the brush.

It would be a good idea if you were to look up tutorials on texturing. There are some here at the hive. You can also look up tutorials that are specific to the art program you are using.

I would recomend you watch this video to get a better idea: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/...echnique-mouse-friendly-video-tutorial-30072/

Freehand is basically drawing your own shit on the skin. Some people like to be nazis about using only the brush tool, but I say fuck them. Use whatever you want. Although people don't really like it here, cutting and pasting bits of other WC3 skins and then drawing around them to make them fit the texture really looks cool.

Well for this i mostly used the spray.
I changed his robe. The middle used to be chains and stuff.
I changed it to be 1 single robe with the white flares.
I also changed his legs, which used to be brown, so he looked like he was wearing shorts.

Also how do you change the weapon? Wouldn't you only be able to change the color?

It looks pretty good,
I guess thats what s good skin is rite?
changing everything?
I still got some work to do b4 i get any good.

A good skin is an opinion. The end product is the most important part in my eyes, not how it was made.

And yes you can change the color of the weapon. Just look for it on the unwrap.

@TheBlooddancer: I think it's just because he has the neutral team color on.
