Looks cool, but maybe instead of the red background try a small red glow just around the character instead?

Tried to draw Sally Whitemane and this is how it ended up. Not sure if it's good enough for Icon Section (sub-standard section, at least!) but I upload it anyway. 
Oh and it's my third Icon in hive, I think. Since the first got rejected and the second went to substandard.
I hope I won't get some harsh critiques.

Could you add some more shading towards the face/cheeks/hair it looks too flat right now and it just needs more added towards it.
