Hmm... This is my own personal speculation, but:
after making WEX he got hired to make Reforged editor, so asking him to contribute to backwards editors like 1.29 probably feels like trolling him. Also WEX worked on 1.29 since back then when 1.29 was live, if I recall. But maybe you already know that and stuff.
Edit:
According to unconfirmed leaks, people like him made features for Reforged editor that were never released and have still never been released even now when guys like him are no longer at the company.
It's probably hard emotionally to accept... like... making a better editor and then having it be never published by the wealthy authority.
If you want a better editor, why can't you just make it yourself?
I didn't know who he was at first but when he said he made it, then I knew he's the guy that went to Blizzard. I understand he worked on the real editor and its nice, but it also has some draw backs and a greedy Blizzard EULA I want to avoid.
I'm sure he had some unpleasant experiences at Blizzard when they gave up on wc3 and probably felt it harder than the rest of us even, but fact is he did some amazing work on WEX even before all that and I enjoy using it still.
If i had Williams skillset I would continue the work but I don't nor am I young enough anymore with the time to try and take something like that on lol. But it could be cool if he gave out the WEX source to the Hive if he never plans to touch it again. We're all still here for the greater good of the game after all. <3 wc3 4 life.
Hi all, I hope this is not a sensitive question, but I really wanted to enquire about this topic. Since Activision Blizzard has been bought by Microsoft, does anyone know if there will be a change in the following policy for custom games? I am hoping it will be like the old days when people...
