    What made Doom map creation so popular imho was that it did not require to master 3D geometry (unlike Quake and the games that followed). Mapping was easy and accessible for almost anybody. iirc ID Software never created any official map editor for Doom/Doom 2, because it was unneeded for them.

    I hope any alleged dispute between darknovismc and Epic Games will be resolved for the better
