Absolute paths work "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\..." (input as "C:\Program Files (x86)\..." (\\ needed due to compiler meaning of \)). You can also do relative path searches (which start with the process running directory) eg "myfolder\\myfile.ext".
Remember that files often have a file extension which is part of the file name so a file called myfile.txt will be referenced using myfile.txt and not myfile which would return a different file. This means that in the same folder you can have myfile.txt, myfile, myfile.exe and any extension to myfile as they all generate unique names.
