Well, for legal and precautionary reasons ActiBlizz won't agree with rips from anywhere but their material (that includes companies they've assimilated over time). It's logical. However, the site is not their property. That does not mean we should build up a stained reputation. I am glad you guys still accept resource rips in maps, otherwise it'd be ludicrous.

Well as we have learned: Sierra Entertainment who publihsed War of the Ring (2003) was merged with Activision Blizzard. So technically it may mean that War of the Ring rips are from a "Blizzard game", which would make it perfectly fine for HerrDave to upload here. But like I said, we are waiting for clarification from Blizzard Entertainment.

@deepstrasz Actually accepting rips in maps or even using a name like 'war of the ring' in the title of the map is against law but I still wish to end it the other way, more freedom= more content

@YourArthas sure, but it's like doing a cover. You don't sell it without acquiring rights, you just sing it.

@YourArthas that can be argued as fair use and thus considered legal.

There is nothing illegal in Herrdave's works from my point of view but this guy > https://www.moddb.com/company/buyichi/mods

Is really a nutsack who steals resources from WoW and Rebirth and "CLAIMS" that he owns and he also locks the maps protected because he said HE "WORKED" hard in the map and models. This guy should face faceslaps from Blizzards and many modders.
