I wanted to try something different.
I don't like cinematics, becuase you are very limited in terms of animation. Unless you create animations for all the facial expressions and actions they do in the texts, my way is much easier.
I won't use different coloured texts for when people say things, because sometimes it should not be there. It is written more like a piece from a book, rather than short snippets in wc3.

I'll probably not change this, but thanks for your opinion! :)

Did you like the story itself? And the way it was told is better or worse than wc3 style?

Well, it's not really the Warcraft style because of the obvious text on black screen thing. However, it's OK. I guess you could use a splat or something like a paper image on which the text could/should appear. Also, maybe a different text font (hand written/runic or something)?

What do you mean by splat?
You mean like fade filters?

A different text font might be cool!

You know, like they used the scope vision or panda. I think it might be a fade filter, don't remember exactly. It's in the cinematic section of the trigger actions, I think.

Alright, but text displayed that way would mean that it would take a lot of import space, it would be weirdly shaped (because of screen resolution) for some, and additionally, big walls of text. :/

Can't you just use an image for the filter and add the text over it ingame?

Aha! Like a piece of parchment adjusted to the left of the screen?

Yes if you don't/can't want to use space to make the text appear in the middle of the screen.

I have a good triggerer that is supporting me through the project, so I can see if he can come up with alternative solutions. :)

I would love to have the text in the middle of the screen, being able to be scrolled through (using arrowkeys).

I saw something like that in a map (can't remember which now) where they used dialogue boxes (edited or something) where you had the text and could scroll down and/or click next/previous page.
