you have to create a dummy that have the effect you want then you create a periodic timer (0.05 sec period)

each period you get the missile point, target point, you calculate the angle betwen them and you move your dummy to a point with angle and a distance

then you check the distance between your 2 points if they are too close you stop it and you make an effect on your target
