Considering how subtle the rest of the TC is, maybe it is better to keep the pants also TC. But maybe it would also depend how much does the unit stand out compared to others. Maybe the red hat (fez?) is distinctive enough to let the pants be TC.
@Galadgod I've decided to swap the fez for a floppy TC hat and left the pants as team coloured. Now he's very team coloured but he's meant to be dressed kind of fancy anyway
