Particularly, what causes a lot of crashes are the units' collision paths, if there are too many (numerous units in battle), this can cause a problem, sometimes reducing the collision helps (wc3 uses an archaic mechanism).
Another big problem is the leaked triggers created mainly on GUI systems ... which unfortunately Blizzard has not solved this with Reforged (requires manual cleaning...always).
