A rooster, also called a cock or chanticleer is a male chicken (Gallus gallus), the female being called a hen. Immature male chickens of less than a year's age are called cockerels.
indeed this is so. But the fact that the roosters names were dick and harry was a conveniently well-planned coincidence. that ha nothing to do with vulgar humor at all
