you can use the terrain height function under the water in the distanced area of terrain to smooth over the edges further away on the beach, and make the beach head less choppy looking. starting something new? thats always spooky feeling. but it feels pretty great, I too started with a map not exactly like this, once, 16 years ago, with just one tree, and one island and nothing else. its a great starting point. great things come from small beginnings.
