actually, I think I did play that one (island survival 2.2) twice or perhaps three or four times, not too many times, there were less islands then too. 3. there were only 3 islands I think, at that time. that one seems to have 8 or 9?!
my biggest form of inspiration, for mur'loc island survival (1) was a warcraft3 map called mur'loc tag, where 5 mur'loc players ran away from 4 hydra players, but it was too much like tree tag and sheep tag combined to become popular (thats what I think any way), so I only ever got to play it twice ever.
that one was amazing visually to me at the time, though I didn't like all the buildng ideas and what not (mur'loc huts where your lower tier walls), I still liked making coral beds (higher tier walls) to keep back hydras, it was reminiscent of using a sheep to build farms to hold back a giant orc raider. similar but different. I liked it. It was harder because hydras had range...
another form of inspiration was island troll tribe wars, with less wall building and more emphasis on survival, but the recipe system was too hard for me (im too dum for complex recipe systems) so I didn't do that well in island troll tribe wars.
im seeking to make something new here, with MIS2 but im still taking inspiration from other places. Because MIS1 was a warcraft3 game it had alot of warcraft3 ideas and game mechanics (admittedly manipulated alot), MIS2 how ever is a sc2 game so its harder to get the essence of warcraft back into it one hundred percent, and I think MIS2 will be a starcraft2 game more then a warcraft3 game no matter what I do until I've had some more time to learn about things inside sc2 I have yet to look at or change.
