one of the most professional ruins style temples ive ever seen, better even then some of my favorite works by me, I particularly like the detail paid to placing clouds (whatever those are, doodads? environmentals? water??)
these other doodads are custom ones, yes? like the pillars/walls and the arches, they look really nice as well, The giant female statues are a little over used, in my opinion, I would of used half that number.
You may wish to invest in customizing one of those big lady statues yourself for variation, it never takes much, you could delete half her face or an arm/the weapon staff thing, for example.
I think the clouds are about right, personally, in height as far as that's concerned, but that's just my opinion, you could lower them to show a bit more of the lady statues legs. we men all love to see more legs.
I can tell its still not finished, due to the empty space around the edges of the big square, so I'll refrain from snarky comments like not enough trees or not enough bushes, What I will stay instead is I like how the progress just out side the center temple/coliseum thing looks, with the small path/tall grasses, Im not sure whats going on with the pool in the back there, it seems a bit deep, perhaps a shallow water traversable reflection pool, as supposed to a full scale diving pool like what you got going on there.
I also think your not utilizing one of my favorite doodads of all time which is of course the vine doodads. if you've found those ones yet that is.
Vines could be really useful along your maps edges, by draping them down off your statues tall points/faces/arms or you could also use them on your coliseums out sides.
I Don't remember what they where called, I think their files came from wc3c (warcraft3 campaigns) and I think they wer made based off the ruins archway being deleted to leave the draped vines. I think its file name was something like ''VinesHanging00/01/02'' if my memory serves.
The clouds are found in the ultimate terraining map. I have a lot of doodads from various wow/other game rip sites like chaosrealm and some weird Russian website.
The giant female statue has been changed out altogether. I don't know any model editing at all so I'm not able to make custom stuff, unfortunately
The clouds has been improved even more with some additional fog which really makes it look insane in game.
The foliage, trees and everything is woefully incomplete in this picture. The pool you see is already walkable. I'm not that good at making water reflection (never tried it before).
I think I know which one you're talking about. I have some hanging vine models in another map I made, but they're pretty low quality compared to everything else in this map so I think it will look out of place. Never hurts to try though
Anyhow, if you like how the terrain looks in this picture you will love how it looks now. I will be posting a video of me walking through it soon as I'm not able to capture the terrain properly with screenshots.
