Fix the handle, very hard to see how it looks or if it is even there, Way to dark, and blends with the background.
And maybe rotate the knife a bit, so it looks like it gets thrown, right now it looks like it rushes forward instead.
Apart from that i like it

A knife is not thrown like this. It rotates but yours is thrown straight as far as it looks now

Well, it really lacks highlights/shading, and the age at which it is is wrong, if you have it this angle the "flow of air" behind it needs to curve to show it is spinning

It's an effect-fest. You should make the dagger/knife and then shove the effects in if you really have to.

This, definetly this. try to make the icon have more depth as well, it looks way to 2d now. Have the knife flying slightly towards the viewer.

I kno' this may not be the best I've ever made, and sadly as it is, I forgot to save the .psd, so can't edit it ):
Well, I could adjust the TGA but since I compressed everything into one layer, it'll be way to much work (for me)
So it's up to you if you'd like to approve or deny it.
