Cuz.. You didn't pick any unit? Picked unit is for unit groups.

Use unit group - Pick every unit selected by player and do Unit - Kill/explode picked unit.

Because you haven't picked a unit yet. If you want to kill the selected unit, use this trigger:

• Unit Group - Pick every unit in (Units currently selected by Player 1 (Red)) and do (Unit - Kill (Picked unit))
