What's the difference between .wc3x maps and .wc3m maps?

Hi, I've noticed a lot of maps (from EpicWar) have .wc3x extensions while a handful .wc3m extensions.

So Is there a difference between the two?

I think I may have read this somewhere before - that someone mentioned it was melee maps vs campaign maps. I could be wrong, do correct me if so.

Many thanks in advance!

There have been 3 file extensions ever since The Frozen Throne was released.

w3m - RoC Maps; playable in RoC and in TFT.

w3x - TFT Maps; only playable in TFT.

w3n - Custom Campaign Maps; playable in TFT.

Apparently they decided to bring back the w3m format for Reforged maps (and remove custom campaigns entirely).
