If you mean custom music fitting best in the game, then my opinions are:

Warcraft Style: Classic, Medieval
Starcraft Style: Techno, Trance, House, Industrial

But in Warcraft 3, depends which race you're playing. For example, the Demon faction would be Death or Black Metal. The Undead faction would be some sort of creepy Industrial or rarely creepy Techno, I guess. The Human faction would be Classic or Medieval. And so on...

Well, any game could use just ambient noises. The sound effects make up for it. I can't see Rock/Rap/Trance/Classical working in any RTS games. Something fast paced like DDR could use trance. Rap, something like Guitar Hero, but of course no guitars.

I wonder what game Blues, or Funk could be used in. Funk, maybe DDR? Faster funk songs maybe.

orcs would be reggae

hahahahahhahahahhaahah!!! Awesome.

Mechanical Man's right. Always avoid using custom musics in maps.

Custom musics are best used in campaigns, especially in MP3. Always keep in mind of the MP3's qualities though, because the best MP3 quality takes away too many MB, making the campaign file "fatter".

It's a pity Warcraft 3 doesn't support OGG format .
