Wepon fail<<<<< can someone help me?

I have Downloaded wepons and gear etc. but when i try and make it that a unit weilds the object it does not work. Instead it just makes the item as the unit. E.G. I get an Axe as the unit instead of the unit weilding the axe?
How can i fix this?
