I need to make a skill where this spider holds a target with his web. I need the web to cost mana per second and when he runs out of mana, then the web stops. Help?

just make an areishackles based spell

if the unit casts the spell turn on a trigger that removes mana every ... sec. when he stops casting turn that trigger off

Oh, sweet I guess I'll try that. But won't that mean it'll just drain his mana away, and then once he hits zero it won't stop him from casting will it?

Also how long would I set the spell length for aerial shackles since the spell doesn't have a set time, just depends how long you can hold it with your mana.

1) ah, then make in that drain mana trigger this action:

if: integer (or real.. dunno) mana of unit = 0
then: order unit to stop
else: do nothing

2) u can set a time, just change the values for the ability in object editor

I know I can set a time, but the spell doesn't last a set time, it lasts however long you can keep your mana going.

cant u put the spell duration for 0.00 sec? it will make it perm until it runs out of mana

Okay, so I've got it so that the spell drains mana for the skill, but that's just generic, I don't know how to set it to drain less and less per level.

use function 'if, then, else multiple'

if lvl of ability is x, then 'that mana drain' else do nothing
