Greetings folks!

I hope im kinda right here, since it is some kind of tech question, but it didnt seem to fit anywhere else.

What happened:

I found a 5-6 y/o spreadsheet with lots of ideas for a TD concept. Thought to myself: why not give it a shot again, was fun the last time doing projects like these. managed to install and finally also successfully patch wc3 tft, opened the WE - and it feels like my pc has aged 10 years.
whenever the WE is open, my mouse lags every ~0.8 to 1 sec, even outside of the WE. seems to apply to the keyboard too (input device malfunction?), since when i tried to google some stuff typing went horribly wrong. the problem occurs right after starting WE, has (imo) nothing to do wih the Object editor, brush list or stuff like that.
system is fine, i7, 8 ram, gt550 ti, w7 x64. hardware should have no problems running an old man like this, except software bottlenacks it somewhere (?). checked task manager, nothing suspicious.
when the WE-window is not active/not in focus/running in background its fine.

google told (at least me) nothing useful yet.

as a pssive user ive come for (and found lots of) help here in the past, now i am actively seeking ur advice in this our of darkest neeed.

thanks in advance to anyone who can provide even the tinyiest bit of knowlede or is willing to sacrfice a minimal amout of his valuable time!

i appreciate the effort, but the problem persists

Try downloading JNGP 2.0 and use that one. It is wayyyy more better and maybe it won't lag. :D
Google "JNGP 2.0 hiveworkshop".

well, that would could cure the symptome, not the illness =D
and tbh i have zero clue (and i admit also time) to figure out how alternate mapping systems would work. till now i was fine with the gui and enjoyed the graphic part of creating a map really much.

this looks like a driver problem. either that or you have too much stuff running on your pc. it is not the editor`s fault however but something on your pc.

well, but what driver? graphics are up to date. my old system, which was way weaker, could handle it. and since load on ram/gpu/cpu are not even above 2% i cant figure out whats wrong.

You can't go against Avast!. Best.
About TuneUp, you're most likely misusing it, because it's impossible for it to slow down your PC, but then, how could you even misuse it? It makes everything fo you, you just need 1 click...

thanks for the vital discussion, but i thinks it goes nowhere

about the virus theory: a virus that only affects my World editor? what crappyily designed virus is this, + i got some anti vir progs.

about the system boost: why should i need a "system booster" for a system, that is way better taht that, on which my WE ran smoothly a few years ago?

Brush List was disabled all the time, its the first u find when u feed google with "world editor lag" x)

did a scan, nothing found.

somehow the lags got less and less the last couple of times i used, just occuring when i switch windows. could also identify that it seems to have something to do with inout/ouput devices, since keyboard, mouse and headset make problems then. so a glitch based on hardware power is pretty unlikely.

i think, if noone has specific ideas about that, we could call this clase somehow closed :p
