It would be useful to convert it into JSON or XML to have some common format which can be used with many tools. Does this tool convert into txt files of Warcraft only?

Warcraft 3 text/binary convertors 1
These tools allow conversion to/from text form of several types of Warcraft 3 binary files:
- war3map.w3u (custom units)
- war3map.w3r (regions)
- war3mapUnits.doo (map units)
- war3map.wtg/wct (triggers)
These can be useful in:
1) maintaining Reign of Chaos compatability
2) maintaining a set of related maps
3) comparing different versions of a map to see what you changed.
