Touhou

One of those nonsense game series where you seem to be armed with nothing more than rocks when the enemy is armed with nuclear weaponary. Basically you shoot tiny week projectiles at the enemy while your enemy shoots billions of stupidly hard to evade projectiles at you. Your enemies take up to thousands of hits while you take only a few.

Would be a good TAS candidate to just show how stupid the game play is when you are not relying on pixel precision and reponses of under 100ms.

You pretty much have it nailed there, DSG. Actually, I've seen multiple TASes of Touhou games (and pretty much playing it with a 10 year old computer does the same thing - if your constant fps is about 3, it plays as slow as you would be doing a TAS) and they're always on Lunatic difficulty, no less would suffice.
Also forcing a 5 fps vsync would be the same as TASing them.

This is only a partial TAS. A real TAS has to be able to be played back at full speed and must be made with access to save state so as to enable input experimentation for even more accurate movement.

Where as you might get people playing absolutly flawlessly at 3 FPS. You will not see people dacing 1 frame away from oblivion all the time (which a real TAS would do to keep it entertaining).

DSG, Touhou replays are always played at 60fps no matter at what FPS they were actually played at. I thought you could see it in the video? (Gameplay FPS is the 60 in the actual playfield's lower corner, and the actual current FPS is where the FPS would normally be during gameplay (lower right corner of the screen)) AFAIK, savestates in Touhou are impossible though.
