The Difference

An icon for a spell for my entry in a techtree contest.

Since the bundle is still pending, I thought it would be a good idea to add a couple of upgrade versions ^^

The Difference

Tier 1. When the stream of energy produced by this spell hits a reflective or a magic-protected surface, it diverges into two separate streams, with one of which able to pass through the protection, while the other, weaker beam, diverting into a different target. This energy split phenomenon is also known as "The Difference" and is often used to teach sorcerer students magic protection.

The Dispersion

Tier 2. Increasing the power of the energy stream turns it into an unstable beam of magical particles. This beam is able to disperse into equally powerful flows of energy, able to reflect at least once more on contact. The more powerful the beam, the less stable the energy is, so even the wisest sorcerers should be careful with this spell.

The Discharge

Tier 3. It's quite a difference in reaction, when instead of casting a steady flow of magic, you charge up an orb and then release all of its energy at once. At this point, the beam is so unstable, it can split into many more streams than usual.

The Diversity

Alternate tier 3. Different mixes of energy can produce different results. And sometimes, the reaction might not be that expected... Especially if all the energy you have comes from all the stardust.
