The Bard: Custom model for DOTA hero

I've been working on an idea for a new DOTA hero, The Bard, which you can see here http://forums.dota-allstars.com/index.php?showtopic=110308 if you'd like.

The hero needs a custom model because there really isn't anything Bard'esq in the regular models.

But here's the thing. I have no idea how to model anything. I neither have the ability or probably the art sense to make one. I read through the stickies on the model forum and I'm still not quite sure how to begin.

If anyone could make just a barebones model that somewhat resembles a bard i'd be very greatful. Here are a couple of Bard pics to give a sense of what one looks like:
