Tales of Symphonia-Kratos' Story1.2e

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
This campaign is about Kratos Aurion while he is absent from the main party in the game from Tales of Symphonia.

*If you haven't played Tales of Symphonia before, you may find the storyline hard to pick up. However if you have played Tales of Symphonia before you'll pick it up quickly*

You start off with very little, and a slow attack speed but by the end of chapter one you will have some nice items, and if you spend your GRADE which you will obtain by killing powerful monsters and completing some quests, you have buy and upgrade some items.

*Though attack speed starts off slow, you can get it at a good speed by the end of chapter one*

Commands for chapter one -
box1 - moves Kratos' first box to Kratos' position
box2 - moves Kratos' second box to Kratos' position

When playing, please listen to musics used and suggest any ideas you may have, may it be monster editing, boss spells, quests, and even items. and if you have any better music to use let me know also.
MAX LEVEL - The max Level for the whole campaign is 100, but right now with only up to bonus stage one, it is 20.

Any cinematic suggestions are welcome also.

-Trigger error where you can end the first chapter as soon as the map loads has been fixed.

-The game is now harder, monsters have more health and do a little more damage.

It seems the Boss for the Profession quest pauses the game after using his common spell, don't worry, the game unpauses after about 3 seconds. Just make sure you have a high enough health so you don't get killed while it's paused. To counter this, i made him easier.

Last time i posted this campaign it was really buggy.

Remember, this is my first time making maps so i'm still learning the triggers etc...



Text errors, the first map is the Prologue, the second map is the first chapter, and the third map is the first bonus stage. I'll fix next version!

After playing, please give me suggestions for the next chapter, what items can be found, bosses (names will help to save me from thinking of them) and any special quests. Also, i'm not that great at terraining, so if there is anyone who is a good terrainer that will be happy to help. i'd really appreciate it :)

EDIT2: I tried on both maps and i got kicked from both. sometimes it takes awhile to get kicked, but you will lose the map anyway.

You should not release your campaign if it was bugged. You should personally remove it and update this sources.

well, iseedeadpeople kicks me out in the prologue, so i don't see why it wouldn't for you, and i'm glad whosyourdaddy does bcuz these maps took me nearly 2 months to make and i don't want people to finish it with little effort. Thanks for downloading, but i dont think having to watch a small 1 minute cinematic again should stop you from playing (mostly since it is voiced), now you know that cheats dont work :)

Also, the prologue should only take 10 minutes to finish. Chapter one should be alot of fun. i had much trouble making it, but when i was testing it, i enjoyed playing it.
Please when you have time, try the first chapter and tell me if you have suggestions.



I am currently looking for some voice actors. If you are a great Cam Clarke inpersonator you'll fit the main Hero nicely. Other voice actors are welcome of course!


You should not release your campaign if it was bugged. You should personally remove it and update this sources.

From Version 1.0 to 1.1

Prologue
- You now start off with 100 Gald instead of 40 Gald
- Scorpians in Prologue now give 2 Gald instead of 1 Gald.
- Tenticles now give 2 Gald instead of 1 Gald.
- The Portal Defender and it's summons are now weaker. Also the Spawn Tenticle spells cooldown is now 10 seconds instead of 1 second.
- Scorpians have a chance to drop Apple Gels (5%) and Orange Gels (2%)
- Fixed Kratos' Attack Speed

Chapter One
- The Crabs in the swamp are now weaker.
- Fixed Kratos' Attack Speed. Before it was really really slow.

Bonus Stage One
- Disabled a trigger that caused any spell used to use a trigger spell that isn't correctly installed into the campaign
- The monsters are now slighty stronger.
- Kratos' Boxes now load. Box 1 in the top left corner, Box 2 in the top right corner.
- Now the boss has and drops the correct item. Before he dropped "Quest Item Two".
- Boss now has full mana, before he only had about 300 mana.
- Boss is now slighty stronger.
- Fixed Kratos' attack speed. Now he attacks slower allowing room later in the campaign to speed up.


If you find any other problems or imbalances in monster/boss strength please let me know and i'll change accordingly.


If i have time, next version will have skippable cinematics.

oh and hey i forgot to tell you in the chapter 1 in the quest of missing villagers when im in the cinematic of earthquake sheena attack already the unknown guy with a sword and i cant continue because when the end of the cinematic im already dead pls fix that :(

How do I beat the lord named something in the cave in the Ozette mayor's quest?

ok i will fix professional boss cinematic.. To defeat Lord Agheydeno, you must run away when he casts a spell. also having alot of apple gels helps!

Max Lv is only 16 bcuz there's gonna be more chapters later.

Bonus stage don't work? What do you mean?

Man tales of symphonia was a great game, and this map explains a lot. Anyway, kratos isn't in the second game, so unluky you.

The second game was awesome actually i cant beat alice and decus on hard mode w/o leveling up hahaha :cry: Well back on the topic of this map, considering how im a ToS fan this was a pretty good map. If you have played ToS 2 you should make another campaign like this but with richter or some badass like him

Prologue

I just downloaded your campaign and i have played the prologue.

The sound ,at its end ,used to tell the story was not properly comprehensible.

The portal near the portal guardian just teleported me around even when it were not visible. This was before i killed the guardian.You might want to fix that.It feels odd.

Being the prologue the placement of the scorpions was good but if you might place some other creatures also then it would look better.

I found a button in the bottom right corner of the map. When i stepped over it i think it must have triggered it. I suggest you place a sound or something associated with it to show what had happened.Then it will be possible to find what happened without trying to go all over the map for finding it.

If the scorpions go on reviving then the level may go up much.Have you placed a level limit in the map?

This map was average but seeing that it is your first time making any maps i have say that it is a good attempt.for this map i will give you 2/5.
Try to fix the teleport bug and sound.
I will soon play your other maps and i will comment that also.

I have tried stopping the teleport from working before it appears but not sure how to stop it.

The button on the bottom right corner makes the guardian appear.

So what other desert like monster/s i should add to the map?

Max Level is 3 in prologue.
Max Level is 16 in Chapter 1.
Max Level is 20 in Bonus stage 1. (just so you can always get exp from kills)
Max Level is 28 in chapter 2. (currently under construction, Max Level may change!)

PS too all people who have played ToS before:
Can anyone think of any other exsperes that i could add the to game? Levels are: 1, 2, 3, 4, M
Also any spells for Kratos to have.

PS to all testers:
Does anyone think altessa's upgrade system to is costly or needs better upgrade effects?

i think the skill point system you have gives out skill point's to late cause lvl 15 and can't even have all skills

and i think there is a typo here inhibitor ore (lvl3) is put 2 times shouldn't it be lvl 2 then lvl 3, not lvl 3 and lvl 3 again

you get a skill point at odd levels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 etc... so at the end of chapter one you'll have 8 in total, but by chapter 6 you should have enough to learn all skills to max level.

Lv3 inhibitore ore is to level up exspere to level 2,3,4,M (Lv3 ore each time)

I don't think it's possible to sell items at full price without making other item sell at full price. but i'll see what i can do!

Yes same here, whenever i play an RPG i like to lv alot. but right now it's in testing stage, when chapter 3 is released i will decrease exp slighty and make max lv slighty higher.

I noticed you havent found the secret village in you screen shots!!

Hint: it's near the marshland and ozette!

Prologue

In my last comment i forgot to ask certain things.

the gald-is it spelling mistake of gold or is it the currency of symphonia ?

you have placed in place of population bar monster kill x/0 . can you try to take out the "/0"?

is this campaign based on a previous game or the story which you have made?

The currency is Gald in ToS.

I'll see what i can do about the kills "/0"

The storyline is what i have made up. but it blends in with the real storyline of the original game. (so any suggestions that make sence will be great!)

I started playing your first chapter and i was amazed at the terrain's quality .I have only seen the beginning till the village but still i can say the terrain was good.
i found a bug.
The short key Z for Zap is not working.

regarding the desert monsters the quill boar with some weakening of strength or a small group of centaurs,also weakened, can help you.

Regarding the teleport system i do not know.but if you can try to ask the creator of 'The Chosen Ones'--Aeroblyctos. He might help you out.

Would you consider improving the beginning Story teller's sound?
regarding the button i figured it out but what i had suggested is to add a sound like a roar of a monster or something like that.

Seeing the quality of the Chapter 1 i had a question.why did you make the prologue so low quality compared to Chapter1.it had almost taken me to quitting your campaign.try to improve its quality or someone else may do it.

well, the prologue is in the middle of a desert, i can't think of anything else to add to a desert. i have about 12 critters, a few trees and cactus'

I'll fix the short-cut key to the spells, thanks for letting me know

I personally don't find cheating fun, i find it rediculously boring when i cheat in games. also this campaign is still under construction and is taking alot of effort to make, so i'll be wasting my time if people can finish the game within a few hours. also usung whosyourdaddy will cause bugs to happen!

i found a hidden village near the ozette village before i had done the mayor's quest.

when i tried to enter i guard came to attack me .i dodged by going from sideways and went to the mayor.mayor gave me a quest.the mage came to the ozette village but i was stuck in the village due to the walls.i tried to take the mage into the village but it was not possible.instead kratos was teleported on the other side of the walls.now i do not know how to go back into the village.can you tell me how i can do that?

when kratos first enters the village the guard should not attack but as me if i would go back and there should be a option of yes and no.if i say yes i will go then he should let me go otherwise if someone accidentally goes into the village he will be stuck.if i say no then i should not be able to dodge him as i had done.if you think dodging should be possible then after i have talked to mayor he should not attack me and the wall should go away.

Also if you can replace the walls by some kind of enchanted wall like a fire wall or the lighting walls ,used in the original warcraft campaign, which i cannot pass then it would be more impressive looking.

regarding the upgrade shop in ozette village it is expensive.you can replace the lumber cost of 2 by 1 lumber and a certain amount of gald. for further you can place 1 lumber and a higher amount of gald.

After i had the mage the killing of the behemoth crab was a play.Due to this i say that the campaign should allow taking of the quest by which the mage comes along till the crab is killed.

i found the spell book of the ozette mayor and had the mage put it into her inventory .when i went to the mayor he did not take it. why?

well, i don't know how you managed to pass the walls when fighting the mizuho guard, but the walls won't dissappear until you win against the guard... also the only quest you are meant to use Sheena in the mizuho quest...

I'll make an option when entering the hidden village!

The Grade shop, yes i though i made the exspere and weapon a little expensive, so i'll lower it, but the inhibitore ores will stay as they play a major role in making super powerful items later in the campaign.. Also upon completing the campaign all remaining gald and GRADE will transfer to a new game, allowing the player to kill special bosses they won't be able to on the first playthrough (Boss in chapter one not added yet)

Fixed a few triggers and added new items to chapter one.

These things will be updated when version 1.2b is released:
-All monsters now respawn where they start, (before they respawned where they died)
-Now monsters will always have a chance to drop items (before they only had a chance before they respawn)
-ALL monsters will now respawn. (before elementals, undead, and sludges didn't respawn)
-New Item Upgrades are: Boots Lv3, Shield Lv3 and Armor Lv3
-Exspere and Life Stealer in GRADE shop are now cheaper
-You can now buy GRADE for 5000 Gald each
-Added a dozen "50 Gald" pieces throughout Chapter one
-There is now a few more GRADE to be found in Chapter one
-Shop in Prologue added
-Optional Quest in Prologue, Prize is 60 Gald and 1 GRADE
-When player has 1000 kills, the ultimate Boss will appear where the flesh golem was fought (don't be stupid and make 1000 kills before fighting the Flesh golem, you'll make the map impossible) *Also there won't be a prize yet as this boss should be unbeatable on first playthrough*


This version should be released by 11:30pm (GMT+10) 6th Jan

I'll first have to see if the added items will make the game too easy first. not to mention you can buy GRADE so you can also buy a few herbs to increase stats permanantly.

I may have to make the final main quest boss harder again with these new items!!

Chapter 2 should come out next month.. In chapter 2 Regal will join your party for a small duration of the main quest!

You'll also have a quick fight against Lloyd.


EDIT:: Version 1.2b released

Now i hope everything is done for prologue and chapter one so i can now work fully on chapter 2. Please let me know if you see anything wrong with prologue and chapter one, i will update it with chapter 2!!

no, not all characters remain with lloyd, remember sheena leaves the party at meltokio, and regal (in chapter 2, still under construction) hasnt joined Lloyds group yet...

To transfer resources you need to have save and Load GameCache triggers

the shortkey a for first aid coincides with attack command and if i use a then attack occurs not first aid.

i want to the oasis in the prologue before going to the wandering mercenary.there were no bandits so why should they appear after i have taken the quest.i am just saying it appears a lack in story.you can add a cinematic saying that those 2 bandits [you may name them] are after the mercenary's weapons or gald and they will not allow him to live so won't allow kratos to take water.you can add one of them listening to the mercenary's plea for help from kratos and then running away.then the appearance will seem logical.do not put the bandits on the respawn like all other monsters in case you do this.you can also add that this shop is a set by his friend till both of them can find their way out of the desert.it will clear why there is a shop in a desert.

i went to shop from the upper right corner of the map with the boundary of the map.when i was just with the shop i was not able to purchase.also i had to go in front of the mercenary to talk to him .after that i was able to do the purchase.i think the cinematic of talking should appear even if i come near him and not only when i am in front of him.

is there a small time limit after which the spring heals or is there a step limit?

Well there are bandit's in the Triet desert in the game, so i thought i'd add them. I'll see if i can make the cinematic better (i'm still learning)

I thought i fixed all spell short-cuts, i'll go recheck.. I'll also add a cinematic with the bandits after quest is obtained. (i'll add a bandit boss unit as well)

Thanks again for testing, keep it up. Please also test bonus stage when you can and give me your thoughts!!


EDIT: I have finished prologue's optional quest. Now the bandit's will appear after their Leader runs past The wanderers while talking to Kratos. The Bandit will stop respawning when quest is complete. Finally i have been able to make some progress on chapter 2. Also started making bonus stage two.

Next version should be released in about 3 weeks!! (about start of Feburary)

KEEP TESTING!!!!!!!

the zap spell takes too long to attack.the long cast time makes this spell bad.instead if i use attack instead i can do more damage in level 1.reduce the cast time if you can.also i use this command from a distance then kratos fire a kind of ball towards the enemy which always misses.instead he should go to attack the unit .

when i reach ozette then the cinematic present at the point has a little problem.it starts by showing kratos then camera moves and shows only trees.then it showed a child running out of the village and kratos was not shown while he was speaking.

the terrain in the ozette village and beginning of chapter 1 was somewhat bad.i mean that there were too man highs and lows in the ground.that was not bad looking during playing but during the cinematics that looked bad.

you should place some guards on the ozette village as it is surrounded by monsters.

when i went to the ozette mayor for the first time than the first line kratos some without even looking towards the mayor.

in the hidden village i see that you have put a warning and i am not able to take the quest and have replaced the wall.i think you can improve this part still.if you like to do this then you you may change the cinematic a bit by showing the guard doing a spell which makes the wall appear .after this kratos looks and can say something like now i will not be able to go out so i will have to face him.then he turns around and says some challenging words.also you should place a circular wall so the movement of kratos is limited like you have done in case of flesh golem.if you do this then the guard can say after casting the spell that now you will not be able to go to harm the village.

in the ozette village after i have just taken the quest of killing the crab i noticed that you have placed restrictions on movement towards the grave site and also towards the upgrader's house.i think you can improve this bit by placing a guard at each of these spots and they give you a line initally that "you are not allowed to go to this place".after that that they say "back off".if you do this then you might also like to add that when i am allowed then also add a line or two of the guards regarding the allowing.

before killing the crab i went to the region near the mountains situated above the ozette village.i was going along the boundaries near the gravesite where the flesh golem appear.i found that near the makuro spans[the crab type monsters] the placement of the creatures was such that one of the sludges of the place near the golem can attack me even when i was not in their region.

The Idea of the zap sparke, is that it uses TP each time you attack with the cooldown complete. So if your attack speed is faster than the cooldown it'll stop you from using TP at such a fast rate allowing room to use first aid etc... Also i'm thinking of replacing zap sparke with Guardian Field

Guardian Field - Kratos Magically summons a small light radius around him causing damage and stealing a small amount of Life/TP of nearby enemy units.


Thanks again for testing, i will edit chapter one again. Fix terrain, fix some cinematics, add guards to ozette.. (monsters will only enter ozette if you run away from a fight, but they won't stay long, even if you kill them in town they won't respawn in town!)

So I played this. There's lots of stuff that could be alot better that would be awsome if you fixed. 1: Make own creeps instead of just using the ones from wc3, make them Tales of symphonish like name tthem like ToS and make them have magics that are pretty alike: 2 Ozette should be alot darker and a dark green fog should be added when you enter, would look better that way. And the noise around the whole map is ugly smooth it down a bit. Otherwise pretty nice map I would love to help you with it.

Thanks for comment. And i would very much appreciate any help. I'm not sure about making Tales of Symphonia monsters, it'll take alot of work, same with magic, it'll be hard to make all different magic spells as this is my very first thing i have made with warcraft.. i like you suggestion ALOT but it will be time comsuming and alot of work (for me personally)

I agree with the terrain, it is a little too hilly, but i have finally got myself to flatten it abit.

whenever i come in or go out of the ozette village then just at the gate there is a time lag in which the music changes.at this point kratos appears to stop for an instant with legs in mid air and then comes on the other side without ever properly appearing to walk in between.

the mana does not regenerate while i am standing.it regenartes only when i am fighting.

regarding the prologue boss ,the tentacles it spans do not move making a bug as the boss goes on spaning the tentacles on the south side initially.i can stand on the north side and can easily be in total safety from the tentacles.also when i kill the boss then the tentacles remain.i think it is weird that the portal guardian is dead but his tentacles remain behind.

the first mini boss i.e. the small golem you have placed before the corrupted tenants.if he provides a grade then i suppose he is a mini boss.why have you put it on respawn?

the position of the corrupted tenants is bad.when i attacked the 3 murlocs near them at night time the tenants came to attack me bacause,i think, as they were positioned on a hill their line of sight is also over the murlocs.

regarding the second box. what are the 4 slots in it ?

About the music change, i cant seem to stop it from lagging slighty. (found the solution, will be fixed next version)

Yes you only recover mana while fighting (just like in any "tales of" game)

I will add a small boss ring around when fighting the mini-boss in prologue (The tenticles now move, the boss ring has been added, Semi-boss is now harder)

The boss respawns :O (i'll see what the problem is)

maybe i can move the treants a little closer to ozette!!

They are reserved for the quest items needed to make the ring of the pact!
