i did some researches with game messages using Anitarf's test map. .
but with some changes on it . . . .
i focused on researching game message's coordinates . .
and i'll tell you the result~
Results:
- General:
1. The screen can only supports 16 lines of game message
2. The screen can only supports 1060 letters (including spaces)
3. Anitarf's Research
- X-Coordinate Facts:
1. Width of the screen is always 2.55
2. The rightmost part of the screen is at 2.425
3. The leftmost part of the screen is at -0.125 (can't be used)
4. Average game message block's width is 1.63 (from different resolutions)
- Y-Coordinate Facts:
1. A game message is hidden at around 1.5
2. The most bottom part of the screen is at around -1 (can't be used)
3. Average single game message line's height is 0.0675 (from different resolutions)
What you can do in the test map:
1. Type -amount XXXX to make left and right arrow modify the amount of letters by XXXX on each presses
2. Type -offset XXXX to make left and right arrow modify the coordinates by XXXX on each presses
3. Pressing left arrow key will reduce the amount of letters or the coordinates by XXXX
4. Pressing right arrow key do the opposite as above
5. Press up/down arrow key to cycle between available letters
