Skull Cairn Pack

This bundle is marked as pending. It has not been reviewed by a staff member yet.
Before I begin, 67chrome's Returned and Returned Archer skins are not included in this pack; they are only in the screenshots, although they make the skulls look great.

I only left his skins on there because I thought they look cool, although updates for both the models and the Screenshots are expected.

The skulls instead use the retail skins.

A "Cairn" is a bunch of rocks stacked on top of each other, typically used for landmarks for things like trails or territories; but in this case I'm using orc and human skulls.

These Skull Cairns can be used for things like dungeons, burial grounds, mass graves for either Horde bodies from the Second War or humanity's plague victims; territorial boundaries; creep camps; trails; cult activity; undead maps; etc.

The skull meshes are made by Blizzard, the rest by me.

I made these brand new resources so all the eyes seemingly follow the player camera; each of the 10 skulls are animated for Stand Hit, Stand Hit Alternate, and Death animations; have a candle in which I myself made; a Particle Emitters 2 in which features the candle's flame; and I even managed to animate the plain with the yellow glow 3 skin using the retail torch found in the MPQ.

The purpose of these new destructibles involves things like dungeons, burial grounds, cult activity, undead maps, mass graves for either the Horde from the Second War or humanity's plague victims, etc.

Halloween may be 5 2/3 months past (or 6 1/3 months ahead, since this is the new year) but I thought I should present some spooky things anyway.

A sure way to celebrate Happy Easter... :mwahaha:

UPDATE April 20 (Easter Day), 2025
~ I have updated all the models so they do not puff up smoke in the portrait animations.
~ I have also uploaded a third screenshot with the retail skins.

UPDATE April 29, 2025
~ I have successfully updated Skull Cairns 0 and 2 so they behave like actual light sources. Feel free to download the two updated models again!
~ I also have also created two new versions of 0 and 2 called "SkullCairnNecromancy" by altering the skins as well as the flame and Omni color, so the candles are black and the candlelight green; and to inform the reader who either has looked or has plans to look into the 3D Viewer, I assure you that the candle may appear Red, but in game it appears Black. You may use these 2 new skulls to substitute the updated versions for your maps. :)

Thats fantastic man! I like it. I would only suggest you adding birth animation to that candle version, as this can be used as building for example. That stand alternate could be renamed to stand work. Or you could add bigger fire on that candle as stand work. Ah candle, thats awesome idea having team colored candle.
4/5 + like from me, nice work man!

How do you believe I should make the birth animation?

I like your idea.
But you should consider adding some decorations.
Bare skulls are hard to satisfy the creation of a horrible atmosphere.
Eyeballs and zombie limbs will be good choices.
Alright.
So should I put the eyeballs inside the skulls and lay the limbs up around and against the skull cairn? I could create some new bones for those too.

Whatever suits you the most and is easiest. I think raising from the ground or something like that. Undead birth may help as it is easiest I presume. I am not expert about births so I do not know actually, but something simple would be cool.

Alright, fair enough. I have plans to update them.
