So, I created a spell in the Object Editor using Carrion Swarm. I want to know how to make it so that you cannot target a unit, but target the ground. I'm hoping to do it without a spell trigger with a dummy. Is there a way? =o

Meh, easy trigger would be
  • Events
    • Unit- A unit is attacked
  • Conditions
    • Unit Type Comparison - Unit type of attacking unit is equal to dummy
  • Actions
    • Unit - Order Attacking unit to Attack ground at position of triggering unit.
Leaks once, give your dummy a splash attack and a slowish moving projectile. This will make an inaccurate AoE. They wont just randomly attack random bits and pieces of the ground though.

Well, it is to damage units, but when I aim it at the unit, it "auto-aim". And I'm trying to make a game based on accuracy and such.

Oh whoops, I read it as locust swarm, not carrion swarm. You still can select them no matter how small their selection size is.
Anyways, if you just order them to attack the ground at the point of the attacked unit, it will still work. It depends on whether you want a line attack or a point area attack.

Well, this involves triggers, but not with the spell;

Add locust to all the heroes, then remove it.

How?

Since the normal way doesn't work

(Add
Remove)

you have to do

(Add
Hide
Remove
Unhide)

Then, the unit will be unselectable except for drag-select, will not be click-targetable, and will not have a health bar or player name when you move your mouse over them.

It's what Elimination Tournament does ;)

This will interfere with unit-target spells if you have any, though.
