Hey, I'm new to the game. Recently introduced to it by my BF.

Then he showed me Map Editor. So yes, I'm wondering if there is a way to set races for each start location?

Example of what I'm trying to do:

Top left of the map is Human Territory. I want the Human character to spawn in said Human territory.

Top right is for Night Elf, Bottom left for Orcs and Bottom right for Undead.

What happens:

Everyone is placed everywhere randomly and spawn points aren't centered as they were in world editor.

Anyone who can help? :c

yeah, in player properties i think you can set the race

is your map melee? I think does everyone start with the main building and 5 workers (or 3 workers and ghoul for undead)

yeah, in player properties i think

Edit: Yes it's Melee

I've tried ticking off the FIXED START LOCATION already. :c I've done a lot of exploring but whenever I start the test game, I'm wherever it wants to put me.

Go to Player Properties and set the Players' names, races and colors and fix start locations.

Red, Team 1, Humans (FSL)
Blue, Team 2, Night Elf (FSL)
Cyan, Team 3 Undead (FSL)
Purple, Orc, Team 4 (FSL)

I started a game up and I was Undead where the humans were supposed to be.

Firstly, you need to lock all player start locations.
Then create custom forces and use them to arrange the players. Make sure player settings are locked.

That way each player has a predefined location and can not change it. Although they can switch to a different player slot in the lobby.

You'll know you've done it right when you can not change your color or race in the lobby.

I will post exact screenshots with exact instructions in 5 minutes. Please, be patient.

First, you are going to open the Scenario > Player Properties....
Then, set the number of players and their properties (races).
In this example, there are 4 players, one for each race.

Now, head over to Forces.
You are going to tick Use custom forces and Fixed Player Settings.
Afterwards, use Add Force and Rename Force to make forces. Drag and drop players into their respective forces (player with Human race into the Human force, etc.)

Pros:
+ Players will have a fixed starting location.
+ Players will be in the area designed for their race.
Cons:
- Current setting only allows FFA (Free For All).
- If you want to set teams, you have to either trigger (code) it, or make preset teams in advance.
