You might want to make the edges of the polygons less visible. Maybe add some sort of glow around the periphery to hide the edges.

The glow ring should be static and not rotate with the inner ring. Try and see if that looks better.

Is is a very simple aura model with nor particular flashy effects.

I would have said the same, rotation a bit too fast. But a good model overall.
