Well, sorry to say, if you're looking for 3Ds Max and you want it for free, tough luck. Costs $3500.00.
Use Gmax instead, found at http://discreet.com/ and download the Gmax modelling tools found at the tools section of this site to help you along.

As for sounds, http://flashkit.com/ (Learned this from Wormskull...) is a good website for sound effects, although some have a large file size. I have no idea how to make sounds using the computer.
 
There is a more simple way to make sounds (only if you want to use your voice ore you want to add a already made musci sound). Programme called: sound - recorder. It's a very small sound programme and you can only save your voice on the band if you got a microphone. The only thing i know you can do with it is make sounds faster ore slower and it only saves for 60 seconds.

BUT it's free and you got it already if you have microsoft xp, so if this is wat you seek and you have microsoft xp there is no problem!
