I have a question for you fellow map makers, more specifically people currently developing RPG’s. What did you do with the extra 4MB size that we can now play with and what else have you added, or changed, more music, more models or items??
I shall answer that question, yet I am not creating any projects anymore...
The simple reason why I respond is because I am the one which will review and approve/reject your map.
Stay beneath the 4MB limit.
Music and sounds are absolutely futile unless you are creating a theme-based map (and even then it's just optional).
Normally the 4MB would suffice for all models/icons/skins you need in the map, also note that a skin usually takes less space than a model, so skins are a good idea.
I've been mapping for 5 years and it seemed like everyone survived with the 4MB Blizzard has given them, in fact: most maps didn't go over 3MB...
Now those extra 4MB have been added, it seems like mappers have to get over 4MB.
All models/skins/icons have to fit in the map (seems obvious, but some people randomly choose cool models).
The limit has been improved because the good old froggy was whining about it against Blizzard and - since DotA reigns WC3 - they've said "who cares? Let's just increase the limit, fix the return bug and they will finally stop bugging us about WC3".
There are a lot of people who don't want to wait to DL maps of 4MB, since it takes a while - those 4 extra MB only increase the time you need to wait and will piss off a lot of people.
Just one question 4mb is kinda little when downloading for an example a image online, but a map that's 4mb takes over 2 minutes in many cases. Why is that?

This depends on your connection and host's connection too...
And about the question firstly posted,i agree ap0calypse but if you WANT to add something a good idea would be to add a Custom UI maybe? That would make your map much much better, especially an RPG map.
Yeah, haven't thought of that... custom UI's are the best (if they're good).
Well, if you really can't get below the 4MB, it's okay, as long as you don't go up to 7-8MB.
Well, but you don't really need those images in normal using

If you dl something from the net, it goes "Internet -> you".
In Battle.net, it goes "host -> Internet -> you". If your host's upload is slow, your dl will be slow too, because you can't dl faster than he uploads.
