project 3 hint inquiry

I have a question about 3rd weeks assignment and specifically Practice Lesson 25 P2.
We are supposed to check if a user doesn't enter what we want.
How are we going to check that when we can't use loops or when the integer parsing of text(meaning a-z) returns 0.

but how to check if a 0 is a wrong input?
Or this isn't the way to complete this excercise then again a hint would be helpfull, I'm busting my brain here.

You are in fact on the right track =), but as you saw, you're solution doesn't handle the 0 case. There is a little bit more to it than what you've figured out. You may choose to explicitly handle the 0 case with something like == 0/=="0", but that is not the way to go, there is a more elegant solution.

I must guess that we are supposed to search for functions and that probably is it.
And if not here on 27 P2 you definetly expect us to search functions. Isn't that right?

I don't want to start searching for functions and use them and then you say that this wasn't taught and you were supposed to only use what is taught in the lessons.

Some clarification would be perfect in these situations imho.

Also sorry if I come out aggresive I'm just frustrated from not being able to solve these problems .

You don't need to search for natives for project 3.

For 27 P2, you do have to search for 1 native, but it is virtually given and will only take a few seconds to find.
