Problems Adding Weapons on Units

Every time i try to add A weapon to a unit i either get a gun and no person or no person and no gun
also need help putting in small armor parts on units any help please comment

Give it a simple ability like Orb of Fire, remove the damage/splash bonus and make the attachment to hand,left or hand,right, torso, etc.
