I load a file using preload. At the end of a match, I "change" the file data. At next match, the data I read is the old data instead of edited data. Can u guys tell me how to fix?
Any map using the Preload natives now have a major error to contend with.
The Preload data appears to be cached, meaning that if you save over that data and load it in another game of the same map, it will instead load the old data from the previous game.
Meaning you have to restart your Client between every game to save data using maps that use codeless save/load systems.
Oh, and water textures on buildings and water elementals are still broken despite a ton of reports.
This will likely cause more harm than good.At this point, it might be advisable to make your map actually crash every player's client to force them to restart.
This would be great if people actually read information in maps. This will likely cause more harm than good.
A better solution is after every save print a warning message for people that due to a bug with Warcraft III they have to quit to desktop and restart Warcraft III instead of the main menu to avoid potential loss of progress. People can ignore the warning but they have been warned.
You can just create a dialog that appears when some save the data that warns that. This would be great if people actually read information in maps.
And from experience, I can assure you they do not at all read such information.
No one reads information in dialogs either. They will do anything to get rid of it as soon as possible. You can just create a dialog that appears when some save the data that warns that.
So what kind of map is creating this guy for people who "don't read information" that needs save?No one reads information in dialogs either. They will do anything to get rid of it as soon as possible.
do not at all read
In the words of Tychus... "You can't fix stupid."No one reads
"You're gonna watch this, and there is nothing you can do about it" is probably the best solution, yes.Maybe use an unskippable full screen filter with the warning rwitten on it that lasts 5 seconds telling them to read the warning notice carefully?
It could be just for the first time the player save, the creator could also save if the player received the message, after all various games puts that type of warning messages."You're gonna watch this, and there is nothing you can do about it" is probably the best solution, yes.
