(you can tell because they still included ball capsule seals)

Well with the addition of ball capsules in D and P, that meant that other people could see these personalizations when you player online (I believe they can, I'm not entirely sure though) - not including it in HG SS would be unfair to the players of it while not including the poketch, which was only specific to your own game, wasn't much of a lose.

yeeeah, i guess your right, but there were all sorts of new things in DP that were not in HG/SS, like contests, they had the Pokathelon instead, so in that perspective, you can only connect between games in battles and trades, so I felt that was a little unfair (i'm the only one out of my friends and family that has HG/SS, some have DP though) and the poke-radar, I still don't have one, so i can't chain!!! i can't find any shinies :(

Well the pokethelon is definitely a bit more fun, but the original contests from Ruby and Saphire were a bit more in depth, of course before they turned them into the shallow piece of crap no one played in Diamond and Pearl.

I thought the idea of moves having extra effects just for contests were interesting when there was a bit more diversity in R/S (in D and P they pretty much killed that) and the move combo's were pretty sweet (I believe one was Sunny Day and Fire Blast - groudon was amazing at cool contests).

Though in HG and SS the Pokeathelon recorded much less planning and overall strategy - many events you can win with pokemon that are terrible at the stats it's in if you yourself get good enough at them.

i have to admit, i loved the emerald contests, but the 3-judge scheme as opposed to the killing-opponents scheme was a real letdown, it had way less strategy involved and it seemed that they were trying to get kids back into pokemon (which they've kinda ruined their chances of now that they have reached the 500 pokemon mark)

yeah, i was the same, i actually beat the berry master on several occasions
but because i didn't have friends with RSE, i couldn't get perfect pokeblocks, only good ones (not in the only stat i wanted, so i could never max the pokemon out correctly)

then in came poffins - once again, trying to capture young-uns, my sister loves it, but that's all she does. she doesn't even use them, and she SUCKS at battling

That sounds like a terribly difficult challenge, unless you just tank a single pokemon, like I did on gold once. Got a level 28 Cyndaquil before the second gym, and from there, only caught things that were clearly better, like that cow thingy (forgets name), but never used them unless weakness type was in play.
The only problem is leveling that way is slow and REALLY boring.

Bulbanews said:
Oha Suta aired new information about transferring Pokémon from Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver to Pokémon Black and White. The feature, called "PokéShifter", will allow players with two DS systems to transfer their Pokémon to the Generation V games in a Pal Park-like manner. Pokémon caught via PokéShifter will presumably be caught in a timed minigame.

Man I'm glad I kept my old DS :D

EDIT:

well they certainly haven't been dicking around since the last one o__o

-Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver - Team Rocket: mainly a group of thugs that has access to an insane millionairs vast resources - overall pretty believable, though they take the evil factor a bit far - back in black
-Ruby/Saphire - Team Magma/Aqua - Opposing teams, both with good intentions but an "evil genius" interpretation of how to go about achieving their goals - a bit more believable - well aside from looking like pirates or smokey the bears reverse twin they don't look that bad.
-Diamond/Peal - Team Galactic - WE WILL CONTROL SPACE AND TIME - Excelsuer!!! - The leftover costumes from the jetsons meet chrome paint.

I liked the view of the Isshu map. The overall terrain looks interesting. Much more interesting than any of the other ones. How many times have we run around in a forest or on grass? D:

EDIT: Also, I'm getting my wi-fi back up in the upcoming week, so maybe we can has some battles.

We will run around on grass again in White. Black will have more hi-tech looks on its landscape.

So, we will finally have more differences on Versions than just Legendaries and Exclusives.

I know, but from the looks of it, there's more actual terrain other than just grass. A lot, actually (mountains, snow mountains, some desert, and white will have a city landscape as well, just not a metropolis iirc)

august corocoro finally up: http://pokebeach.com/2010/08/clear-scans-of-august-corocoro-leaking

tl;dr version:

* While the Sturdy ability originally negated one-hit knockout moves (like Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, and Sheer Cold), it now prevents ANY move from knocking out the Pokemon in one hit (similar to the Focus Sash item).
* TMs will no longer expire after one use - you can use them as many times as you want, like HMs!
* Rotation Battle - Another three-on-three battle mode. You can only choose one of your Pokemon out of the three out to attack each turn. You have to predict which Pokemon your opponent will use and what attack they’ll use for the greatest success. This type of three-on-three battle is in addition to the regular three-on-three battle mode and the one revealed last month where you can constantly rotate the position of your Pokemon.
* Miracle Shooter - Allows you to use items in wireless battles; you collect points each turn and can use them for the chance to use items. You can choose whether to use Miracle Shooter or not.
* A Vaporeon you meet in the Dream World has Hydration as its ability, meaning Pokemon can now have non-standard abilities! The other Eeveelutions you can obtain in the Dream World will also have different abilities than usual.
* CoroCoro states that many Pokemon you meet in dreams will have different abilities than usual.
* There are no Berries in the Isshu region. They only appear in the Dream World.
