Placement of Doodads and Units?

hey hiveworkshop! i need some professional help on this question. i've noticed that with some doodads, when i place it on the map, it seems to be limited on where i can place it... for example...

when i place the "barricade" doodad on the map- i notice that as i move the marker on where i want to place it- it seems to "skip"

on the other hand, when i try to place the doodad, such as the "torch" doodad, the place marker seems to be more "smooth"... am i making sense? if so please tell me why, and how i can change it- and if not... i'll try my best to clarify haha :) thank you! :D

oh okay, thanks :D but what if i did this... what if i set the pathing texture to none... then placed the doodad where i wanted to put it... then put it back to its default setting... will it keep the same position AND it's collision properties? - and again, thanks a bunch :D
